FLS – Crime Scene Processing & Fingerprint Laboratory Program Combo

Crime Scene investigators will be trained on the care, use and applications of Crime Scene Forensic Light Sources such as the MCS-400 and the battery powered HandScope®.

Program includes: Theory of Light, Spectrum, Fluorescence, Reflectance, Absorption, Wavelengths, Filtering light, Protective Goggles and Camera filters, Safety aspects.Review of all Crime Scene Forensic Light Source applications followed by hands-on workshop (Latent print enhancement, body fluids and other trace evidence), using fluorescent powders and other crime scene tools, FLS maintenance.

Evidence Technicians will get a complete step by step overview of latent fingerprint processing, both on porous and non porous surfaces while using Forensic Light Sources such as the CS-16-500 and MCS-400. Cyanoacrylate techniques will be demonstrated. Dye staining will include Basic Yellow 40, Rhodamine, Ardrox and RAY. Fluorescent Powder Techniques will be reviewed and their limitations explained. For Porous surfaces, DFO, Ninhydrin and ZnCl will be used and enhanced with FLS and optimized camera filters.

These training programs are offered to Law Enforcement Agencies and take place at their facility. Prices include all expenses. Prices are for U.S. Law Enforcement Agencies. Extra fees may apply for foreign destinations, based on availability of airfares, travel time, and local costs.
